Welcome to FK (freebuild krylus) 76.118.158.168
Just started this up today. Going back to the old values of the first server I created, Freebuild Krylus. Read more below. IP above.
Information
FreeBuildKrylus, Krytek, and StrappCraft have all come and gone. Myself, along with others, have learned from this whole experience. Here are a few points:
1. It is much harder to get people to conform to a setting. ie Roleplay, like StrappCraft. People were just building weapons and making houses/food, without really following the guidelines about it. Understandable. Basically, it's impossible to regulate stuff like that without plugins.
2. No matter what you do, you still have griefers.
3. Fewer rules is better, but be specific as to what these cover.
4. People just want a server to play on, instead of some complicated scenario/roleplay thing they have to go along with. They don't want restrictions and they don't want other people to have more special privileges (creative) than they do.
5. The only way to have a real supply and demand between factions/players is to have a large amount of players. If we maintain a small group of 10 or so people, there will be small supply and large demand for quite a while, and then it will even out and eventually reverse. Without new players, building ceases, and instead of expanding and therefore requiring more supplies, people just improve and stockpile what they already have.
Going forth with this new knowledge, I am going to re-start, or start up again the simple FreeBuildKrylus server. No fancy stuff, no required jars, no "don't update your clients", no requirement to join a nation or war, and only a few rules. We are going back to how it was when it all first started, simple and happy. If you want to join, you can check the Twitter Account on progress of setting up the server.
